John Burgess, VFW Life Member of Middleburg Post 8255. Retired US Navy; Aviation Ordnanceman Chief Petty Officer (AW). Retired in 2003 after 22 years of service. Served with VFA-81 onboard the USS George Washington off the coast of Afghanistan and Iraq in 2002; Operation Enduring Freedom and Global War On Terrorism. Hometown: Dedham Massachusetts. Resident of Florida since August 1990. Post Commander of Post 8255 (Middleburg, FL) from 2008 - 2010. Served as MOC, FL District 6 Quartermaster/Adjutant and Past Commanders Club VFW Florida Quartermaster/Adjutant. Former Secretary of Veterans Council of Duval County. Life Member of VFW, AMVETS, and Aviation Ordnanceman Association. Member of American Legion.
