Randy Cash
Junior Vice Commander - Army

Randy  was elected to the office of State Jr. Vice Commander at the June 2024 VFW Department of Florida State Convention. 
 
Randy was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army through University of Miami ROTC in 1981. Randy retired from the Army as a Major in 1999 after serving in Operation Provide Comfort in Northern Iraq, Korea, Turkey, Germany, and commanding an UH-60 Blackhawk assault helicopter company during Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. 

His military awards include 2 awards of the Army Meritorious Service Medal, 4 awards of the Army Commendation Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (with bronze star), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Volunteer Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and the Army Senior Aviator Badge.

Randy has been an All-State and All-American District Commander along with serving as a district senior vice commander, district junior vice commander, district chaplain and post commander.

Randy is currently Board Chairman of the Collier County Housing Authority. He is a graduate of the US Command and General Staff College, member of the Collier County Veterans Council, National Association of Government Contractors, Independent Fix Based Operators of America, and the Association of American Airport Executives where he serves on the national committees for military relations and training.

Randy is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Florida and has been married to Mary Ellen for 48 years. Randy and Mary Ellen have been residents of Collier County since 1995.
