Don is also the State Inspector, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the Department of Florida.

Don joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Green Cove Springs Post 1988 in Jacksonville, FL where he worked through the chairs and was appointed to the position of State Inspector in 2008.  Don served as the State Inspector again from 2012 – 2014 and then also 2016 to present. Don has transferred his membership to the Oceanway VFW Post 11406, Jacksonville, FL.  Don has served as the Post Quartermaster, Jr. Vice Cmdr, Sr. Vice Cmdr, and Post Commander and has served through the District chairs to include the District 6 Commander in 2009-2010.  Don has served on the National Resolution Committee and the Budget & Finance Committee. 

Don joined the United State Navy in 1978, served in Iran in 1979 and Libya in 1986 as well as other locations around the world. 

Don was born in Kimball, Nebraska and graduated from East Jackson High School in Jackson, Mississippi and has also lived in Virginia for a period of time.  

Don is a member of the American Legion, Fleet Reserve, Moose Club and the ABATE Organization. 

Don is single and resides Green Cove Springs, Florida.
